Edward R. Carter, 92 , of Grove City, OH and formerly of Sebring, FL, passed away on May 22, 2016. He was born on November 9, 1923. Edward served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. Pacific Theatre during WWII, receiving a Purple Heart for action at Iwo Jima.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, parents, James L. and Gertrude R. Carter, son, Steven Edward Carter, daughter-in-law, Lynn Carter of Gold Canyon, AZ.
Surviving family includes children, Mark (Sue) Carter of Grove City, OH, Pamela (John) Sperry of Mt. Vernon, OH, James E. Carter of Apache Junction, AZ, grandchildren, James R. Carter, Ryan E. (Mandy) Carter, Lauren C. (Andy) Frazee, great-grandchildren, Carly and Wesley Carter, Ryder and Reagan Frazee.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00pm at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Hoover Haus or Heartland Hospice. The family would like to thank the Hoover Haus for the special care that Edward received in his last days.
