Edwin Willis Shellhamer

Edwin Willis "Sonny" Shellhamer, 82, was carried away by the angels on June 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents, Mabel and Wilson Shellhamer and step-mother, Constance Shellhamer.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn "Jo"; daughters, Edwina (Daniel) Hornung and Karen Shellhamer; grandchildren, Dessa (Colton) Shepherd, Paul (Sommer) Caldwell, and Eva Hornung; great-grandchildren, Paul Edwin Jr. and Ayce Caldwell; and sister, Beverly (Jack) Neil.

Retired from the Columbus Division of Fire. Sonny enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and bowling. He delighted in preparing family meals for special occasions. He was a member of the Columbus Chippers wood carving group, cultivated orchids in Naples, FL, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Sonny had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful storyteller.

Visitation Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 12pm until the time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Entombment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sonny's memory to Tributes Processing, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
