Elena Melendez, 74, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Ann's Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1939 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Vicente and Victoria Maldonado Hernandez.
In addition to her parents, Elena was preceded in death by her husband, Justino Melendez-Gotay.
She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Pringle, Claritza Velez and Whitey Romero; sons, Carmelo Noble and Ralph Velez; grandchildren, Priscilla Pringle, Natasha Quinones, Justin Velez, Michael Rivera, Baby Noble, Marcus W. Pringle and Carmelo Noble Jr.; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Marcus Jr., Carmelo Jr., Jesus, Tone, Makai, Jazmyn, Genesis, Kassady and Justin Ryland.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
