Elicia Louise Madubuko, affectionately known as Licia, peacefully departed this world on July 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on October 13, 1961, in Akron, Ohio, Licia was not only the life of the party but also a beacon of kindness and selflessness. Her infectious spirit and adventurous nature brought joy to everyone she encountered, making even the simplest gatherings unforgettable.

A devoted family matriarch, Licia embraced her role as a retired stay-at-home grandma with boundless enthusiasm. Her most prized possessions were her three beloved grandchildren, Eleiya, Eiress, and Envy. She poured her heart into every moment spent with them, reveling in their laughter and milestones. The friendships she nurtured and the memories she created with her daughter, Eureka, and son-in-law Eric, only enriched her life further.

Licia's passions extended beyond family. She had an insatiable love for travel, enjoying adventures that allowed her to explore new places and create cherished memories. There was nothing she loved more than listening to live music, going out to eat with friends and family, playing cards, dancing, or simply being surrounded by the people she loved most.

Her heart, however, was marked with the deep sorrow of loss. Licia was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Jones; her mother, Mary Louise Johnson Satterwhite; and her precious grandson, Deaire. These losses were profound, yet they shaped her into a person who understood the importance of cherishing each moment and each relationship.

Throughout her life, Licia stood out as a dependable friend and a source of unwavering support. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her sense of humor could light up any room. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
