Elijah "Cokie" Gallaher, 83, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Columbus Healthcare in Columbus, Ohio.
He leaves his sons: Rodney Gallaher, Roger (Gretta) Gallaher and Carl Bryant, sister, Wanda Combs, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and many close friends.
He was born in Harveyton, KY, raised in Hazard KY. Elijah is preceded in death by his parents: Ross and Reba Gallaher, brothers: Willie, Clarence, Dennis Gallaher and sister Mildred Knowles.
After serving the US Navy; he spent his adult life in Columbus, OH.
Elijah retired from the Columbus Sanitation Department. He was an avid basketball player from high school into his retirement and a lifelong fan.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1 pm with visitation from 12pm -1 pm at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Please view our share memories tab to leave a message for the family.
