Elisa "Apo" Howard

Our family is heartbroken to share that our beloved Mother, Elisa Howard-affectionately known as "Apo"-passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, following a short, sudden battle with colon cancer.

Apo was born on November 19, 1942 in the Philippines to the late Vidal and Francesca Yunga.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lyndel Howard.

She is lovingly survived by her step-children, Danny (Candy) Howard, Eric Howard, Andrew (Rachelle) Howard, granchildren, Selyta, Tristan, Janiyah, Nasir, Cameron, Kailani, Kamayah, Noelani, Jeremiah, Josiah, and Kaden.

To know Apo was to know a woman who lived entirely for others. She was more than just a step-mother, grandmother and friend to us; she was a beacon of endless love, a comforting presence, and a servant’s heart who nurtured everyone around her. Whether she was tending her garden to share fresh vegetables with friends and family , or working tirelessly to send support to her relatives in the Philippines, she lived with profound selflessness. She was the definition of generosity, always putting her own needs last to ensure those she loved were cared for and secure.

She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends may call on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43231 for calling hours from 4pm - 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, April 18, 2026 at St. James the Less at 10:30am.
