It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Anna Thomas, lovingly known as Betty, who left this world on December 13, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on February 19, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, Betty lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

A proud graduate of Linden McKinley High School in 1960, Betty dedicated over 30 years of her career to AETNA, where she excelled in customer service. Her work was more than a job; it was an opportunity for her to connect with others and express her trademark warmth. Betty's friends and colleagues will remember her for her caring nature and her feisty, sassy spirit.

Betty was married to her beloved husband Dave for 37 blissful years. They were truly inseparable, cherishing each other in all things. Together, they built a home filled with joy and laughter, where family was always the center of their universe. Betty’s proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family, which grew to include her adored children: son Brett (Anita Wysong) Brenning, son Mike (Rebecca) Brenning, daughter Sally (Michael) Kolman, and daughter Mary (Chad Himes) Brenning. Each of them holds a special piece of her heart, as do her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Betty had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed sitting outside, watching the birds and flowers, and she had a passion for cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team. Lake Erie held a special place in her heart as well; she cherished the moments spent there with her siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her sisters, Mary Bates and Pat Yorde, recall these times with fondness, as do her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Though Betty's life was filled with joy, she also faced her share of heartache. She was predeceased by her loving husband George "Dave" Thomas, her parents Herbert and Mary (Hunt) Weir, her sisters Janet (Dave) Cole and Doris (Dave) Lester, her brother-in-law Bob Yorde, and her dear grandson Cory Brenning and granddaughter Elisabeth "Lisa" Perkins. Each of them left an indelible mark on her heart, and they will be forever cherished in her memory.

Betty will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville, Ohio, on December 18, 2025, beginning at 11:30 AM. Her spirit will continue to shine through the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and selfless soul, whose feisty attitude and sassy flair brought joy to all those lucky enough to know her.

As we say our goodbyes, we will carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and family togetherness, always remembering the beautiful moments that made life so precious. Rest in peace, dear Betty. You will be deeply missed.
