Elizabeth A. “Liz” Dayhaw, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on July 9, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born on August 2, 1978, in Charleston, West Virginia, Liz filled her 47 years with a warmth and vibrancy that deeply touched all who knew her.

Liz was a woman who found profound joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was known for her genuine, down-to-earth spirit that made every gathering feel like home. Whether she was basking in the sun on a family beach vacation or laughing across the table during one of her cherished meals out with loved ones, Liz embraced each moment with an open heart and a welcoming smile. It was those small, unhurried moments—waves lapping at her feet, or the hum of conversation over plates of comfort food—that she treasured most.

Family was the pillar of Liz’s life. She poured her love into every role she held—as a devoted wife to her husband, Jack Scott, a proud and nurturing mother to her daughter, Bailey Scott, and her son, Brayden Scott. Her family meant everything to her, and she approached each day determined to surround them with love, laughter, and an abiding sense of togetherness.

Surviving Liz are those who will forever cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy of kindness and courage. Along with her husband Jack, daughter Bailey, and son Brayden, she leaves behind her mother, Chlora Dayhaw; her sister, Mary Ann Dayhaw; her brother, Dallas Dayhaw; her mother-in-law, Rose Watts; and her father-in-law, George Scott; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each one has been a recipient of Liz’s affection and steadfast support—a gift they hold closely in this time of loss. She is preceded in death by several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins.

Liz’s personality was unforgettable, she approached life with honesty and boldness, never afraid to speak her mind or light up a room with her candid humor and quick wit. Yet beneath her spirited exterior was a deep well of compassion, always making room for others and celebrating their joys as if they were her own.

Above all, Liz’s greatest love was time shared with family. Whether embarking on new adventures or simply enjoying the comfort of each other’s company, her heart was fullest when surrounded by those she loved most.

As we remember Elizabeth A. Dayhaw, we celebrate a woman whose gentle strength, warmth, and passionate spirit shaped the lives of all who were lucky enough to know her. Liz’s absence leaves a profound ache, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort, inspiration, and lasting love.

Service arrangements will be shared by the family at a later date. Those who mourn her loss take solace in the countless lasting impressions she left behind—small acts of kindness, big bursts of laughter, and the unwavering devotion to her loved ones that defined her too-short but beautiful life.
