Elmer Wayne Cook, 97, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, surrounded by his family.
Elmer was born May 26, 1929, in Honaker, VA, to Grat W. and Clara Hoppel Cook.
Elmer was a proud Veteran who served in the Korean War. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Margaret (Wilson), and moved to Columbus to start a family. They were married 71 years.
Elmer leaves behind sons David (Louann) and Ron (Bridget), daughter Karen (Gary) Frazier and Connie (Steve) Clausson, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Elmer was preceded in death by son Randy Cook and grandson Robert Russell.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Newcomer-NE chapel. A brief service will follow at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Sickles.
