Bishop Dr. Emanual E. Roberts I, 54, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1959 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, son of Evans and Laura Mae Winston Roberts.
Emanual is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tamula "Tammy" Turner Roberts; sons, Emanual E. II and Elisha E. Roberts; sisters, Maggie Hamilton, Laura Young, Ava (Mark) Nowling, Lynn (Stephen) Dillard, Lisa Smith and Mary Roberts; mother-in-law, Mary L. Turner; sister-in-law, Carmen (Randy) Hamilton; brother-in-law, Darrell (Michelle) Kelso; dear friends, Sidney Hamilton, Paul Chapman, Charles Ross, Paul Young and an extended host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2013 from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. James Baptist Church, 1311 E. Hudson St., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in care of Tammy Roberts.
