Emma "Kate" Eller, age 95, of Roaring River, NC passed away on December 20, 2014 in the loving home of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Eller was born September 1, 1919 in Wilkes County to the late Julius and Drusey Belle Wiles Pardue, Sr. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Eller served her church faithfully in The Women's Missionary Society, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and preparing and serving meals for church suppers. Mrs. Eller later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she was a member at both Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna, Ohio and First Church of the Nazarene of Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Eller was employed by Chatham Manufacturing, Ohio Bell, Lazarus Department Store, and the YWCA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Eller; son, John Phillip Eller; four brothers, Wilson, Archie, J.S., and Bill Pardue; eight sisters, Jessie Pardue, Minnie Eller, Vetral Adams, Myrtle Harris, Gertie Lee Luffman, Emmie Couch, Helen Nickell, and Sybil Cheek; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Pardue; grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Edwards and Chauncey (Scot) Cianci; great-grandchildren, Jacob Cherry, Isaac Edwards, Grace Edwards, Brooklyn Cianci, Connor Cianci, and Eve Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 3:00pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3982 Clingman Rd. Ronda, NC officiated by Rev. Kenneth Pardue and Rev. Hillery Wood. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Eller will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Services are entrusted to the care of Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin, NC.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio and Home Helpers for their exceptional help and care. Appreciation is extended to the staff and residents of The Worthington of Gahanna, Ohio where she spent the last five and a half years enjoying her independence and making fond memories. Appreciation is also extended to family and friends that offered support, encouragement, and prayer as Mrs. Eller made the journey home. Most of all, without Christ, there would be no celebration of this occasion. Thanks be to God!
