Eugene V. Miller

Eugene V. "Gene" Miller, 90, Columbus, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014. Gene was born in Coshocton, OH on February 9, 1924, to Clarence and Gertrude (Sauerbrey) Miller and is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 67 years, Delores (Williamson) Miller 2/26/2014.


Gene is survived by his daughter, Debby Miller; son, Gregory (Nancy) Miller; sisters, Twila (John) Hill, Ashland, OH and Janice (Robert) Strine of Ashland, OH; grandchildren, Sara (Floyd) Adams, Brian Miller and Scott Miller; great-grandson, Ian; sister-in-law, Leota Clarke; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Gene served during WWII with the Army Air Corp and worked for the Federal Government for 37 years. He also was a member and ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Westerville, past vice-president (1957-1958) of the Ohio Jaycees, life member of the VFW Post 9473, Reynoldsburg, OH and devoted care giver to "Dee" for over 12 years.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 4-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014, 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Westerville, 41 West College Avenue, Westerville, OH 43081 with visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Westerville or the Alzheimer's Association, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215.
