Eva Mae (Tabor) Holm passed away at home on June 15th, 2025. Born to Martin C. Tabor and Mary Belle (Toler) Tabor on July 25, 1930 in Eckman, West Virginia.
She graduated from Gilbert High School, where she was voted most popular, most talented, peppiest, and noisiest. She went on to enlist in the USAF where she met and married Gene S. Holm, also in the USAF. That marriage lasted fifty-four years until Gene passed from cancer in 2006. They traveled while being an Air Force family - Washington, New Mexico, Missouri, Texas, Germany, Louisiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. When Gene went TDY, she managed their homes, children, and a job in nursing. As an LPN, one of her most favorite positions was working in the newborn nursery, taking care of the special babies.
Eva was very upbeat, hardworking, loving, fun-loving, and funny. She loved to sing, play guitar, swim, fish, and dance. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Eva loved animals of all kinds, but especially her dachshunds. As one story goes, Eva went missing during a storm. Her dad found her holding his raincoat over a piglet.
Survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Jim) Finegan; daughter-in-law, Britta (Stephen) Holm; granddaughters, Nicole (Danny) Law, Brittney (Trevor) Chamberlin, McKense (Andrew) McKenzie; and 7 great-grandchildren; special friends, Shannon (#2) Routh; very special nieces and nephew, Sandi Nightwine, Susie Mayhorn, and Martin Browning. Eva loved her family.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; son; and sisters, Dorothy Tabor, Mary Rose Farley, and Patsy Sanders.
