A memorial service celebrating the life of Evan Edward Wilson, age 79, of Harbor Hills, will be held from 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at the Jacksontown United Methodist Church rec center, 9350 Jacksontown Road, Jacksontown, Ohio.
Ed "Sonny" was born June 29, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John Edward and Jean (Harrity) Wilson. Ed passed away after a long fight with cancer on Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home.
Ed worked in the plumbing/HVAC trade for most of his life, retiring from the engineering department at Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2001. Ed was a past member of the Licking Township Volunteer Fire Department in Jacksontown and Antique Boat Society. Ed enjoyed boats, cars and having fun on Buckeye Lake with a fun bunch of friends/family and fishing at Lake Erie in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary B. (Russell) Wilson, two children, Michael (Christina) of Hebron, Richard (Yolanda) of Wilmington, California; grandchildren Brandi (Jarrad) Tracy, James (Julianne) Wilson, Bryan Wilson, Penny (Anthony) Buzon; great grandchildren, Caleb Tracy, Caiden Tracy, Preston Wilson, Zachary Baker, Briseis (Bri Bri) Wilson, Michael Wilson, and Miles Jakosalem; sister Marty (Dave) Ritchey of Pickerington, Ohio, brothers, John Wilson of Conway, South Carolina, Robert Wilson of Columbus, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two great grandchildren Aiden and Parker Tracy.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio and the people who cared for Ed. Nurse Sheri, Aide Whitney, Social Worker Teri, and Crisis Care Nurses Carrie, Anita and Lisa.
