Evelyn (Matter) (Bendure) Ballou , age 101, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. She was born on February 14, 1916 in Sandusky, OH.
Surviving family includes children, Roland (Dorothy) Matter, Barbara McFarland, Viva Bowen, Corena "Ginger" Sanders, Connie Jean (Ernest) Dennison and Dayle (Thomas) Gwinner; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Cora Mae Schoenegge; sister, Wilma Harrison; brother, Willard Schoenegge.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, where an Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children by visiting www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/donate.
Evelyn was a life member of O.E.S. Beacon Chapter, Ladies Oriental Shrine, The White Shrine of Jerusalem, Daughters of America, Grand Encampment of Ohio, Daughters of the Nile, Nomads of Avrudaka, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Amaranth and several others.
