Evelyn Rice, 77, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on October 7, 2026, in Grove City. She was born on June 29, 1949, in Webbville, Kentucky.

Evelyn will be remembered as a woman who loved the Lord and held her family at the very center of her life. She was known for being very honest, deeply caring, and loving. To those who knew her best, she was a perfect wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family was her proudest accomplishment.

She shared 49 years of marriage with her husband, Michael Rice, a lasting partnership that stood as a steady and treasured part of her life. She also leaves behind her daughters, Veronica Blair and her husband Craig, and Andrea Soltesz and her husband Troy. Her love continued through the generations in her grandchildren, Cortney Scott and her husband Jonathan, Sabrinia Burton and her husband Brian, Dylan Treymane, Jordan Treymane, Lela Soltesz, Tori Soltesz, and Olivia Blair. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Cohen Scott, Audrianna Scott, Beckham Scott, Lennox Scott, Elliot Burton, Chandler Burton, Reign Burton, and Evelyn Burton. She is further survived by her brother, Lester Hicks, and her sisters, Virginia Sammons, Charlotte Pennington, and Shirley Stevens.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her great-grandchild, Bennett Burton; her father, Ossie Hicks; her mother, Viola Hicks; her father-in-law, Andy Rice; and her mother-in-law, Lela Rodney. She was also preceded in death by her brothers James Hicks, John Hicks, Lawrence Hicks, and Gary Hicks, and by her sisters Helen Belmany, Pauline Rose, Sylvia Campbell, Lenora Younker, Kathern Boring, and Belva Sizemore.

Evelyn’s life was rooted in faith, love, and devotion to those around her. Her honesty was part of her strength, and her caring heart was felt by all who had the blessing of knowing her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude, and her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
