Everett Jordan Coen

June 24, 1991 — April 26, 2025

Columbus

Everett Jordan Coen of Columbus, Ohio, departed our world on April 26th, 2025, at just the young age of thirty-three. His unexpected passing has sent many into the depths of grief. All who knew him immediately loved him. Many can say he was a light in their lives that kept them going. Everett Jordan was born on June 24th, 1991, in Fairfax, Virginia, to loving parents Everett Alan Coen and Tammy Jean Coen. Everett Jordan lived in West Virginia during his childhood, then moved to Ohio from adolescence to adulthood.

From an early age, Everett Jordan had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a complete stranger, his quick wit, genuine smile, and welcoming spirit had a way of drawing you in. His laughter was contagious. Everett Jordan’s heart was as big as his humor. He cared deeply and loved fiercely, always offering a warm embrace, a listening ear, and a safe space for those who needed it.

At home, Everett Jordan was the devoted “cat dad” to his two beautiful cats, Chico and Larry, who were his pride and joy.

Everett Jordan’s absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled, but his spirit lives on in every shared story, every smile sparked by a memory, and every act of kindness done in his name. His life, though far too short, was rich with love, laughter and meaning.

Everett Jordan is survived by his loving family: partner, Kristin Martin, his mother, Tammy Jean Coen-Ramsey, and his sister, Whitney Jacqueline Ramsey, and his grandmother, Jacqueline VanGelder who will forever carry his light in their hearts. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Jay and Jenni VanGelder; his aunts, Lorrie Woolwine and Lisa Galloway; his uncle Tim Woolwine, and a cherished group of cousins — Parker and Shelby VanGelder, Jen (Ben) Fedor, Ben Woolwine, Michael F. Coen, Katie (Ryan) Leatherberry, JP Starkey, Tyler Woolwine, and Shaina (Chad) Hagler. He is also lovingly remembered by his second cousins, Ashton Ward and Eleanor Gower. In addition to his family, Everett Jordan leaves behind countless friends who became family, and all those fortunate enough to have known his warmth, humor, and extraordinary heart.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Everett Alan Coen; his great-grandparents, Joe and Violet Coss, and Everett and Hazel Coen; his grandparents, Fay and Linda Coen, Kenneth and Shirley Moyer, Edward VanGelder, and his aunt Beth Woolwine.
