Evone Harris, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Columbus, OH. Evone was born on November 13, 1932 in Jackson, AL to the late Dan and Queen (Ludgood) Burrell.
In addition to her parents, Evone is preceded in death by 14 siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Janet Harris; daughter, Brenda Hughes; sons, John (Lorraine), Tyrone, Michael, Gary (Kristina), Darryl Harris and Bill Reese; granddaughters, Shantell Howard, Danielle Harris, Shaneka (Hernan) Collins, Andrea (Jonathan) Butler, Sherri (Tayon) Hughes, Shanice Coleman, Tiffani Harris and Dionne Harris; grandsons, Ty Harris, Brandon (Sandra) Jones, Justin (Larissa) Harris, John Harris, Marcus (Joanna) Harris and Jonathan Harris; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Ellison and Elaine McCants.
Evone loved spending time with her family and friends centered around great, home cooked meals. She loved traveling and horses. Evone loved sweets and loving on her grandchildren. She had a lot of spunk and a fiery personality. Evone made everyone that came into her home feel like family.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 pm also at Newcomer NE Chapel. A repass will follow the service at J Zhen, 4400 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43224 until 10 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evone's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
