Fannie Louise Collins

August 18, 1918 — October 24, 2017

Our beloved Mother and Grandma, is in the present of the Lord, her heavenly father opened his arms and took her home on October 24, 2017, she was in her home comforted by family. She was born on August 18, 1918 and raised in Urbancrest, Ohio. Fannie was the last of 11 children from the union of Charles and Pauline (Kemper) Quinichett. Fannie attended Urbancrest Elementary and Grove City High School. She was also a Girl Scout leader. She will be most remembered for her spirit to help, and her love for everyone, calling them by name "Precious". Fannie was a strong role model teaching her family by example about the importance of hard work.

She was baptized in Jesus Name years ago and got re-baptized in 1997 at True Vine Church of Apostolic Faith, Elder Jerry C. Sanders, Pastor. She was the Mother of the church and a faithful member at True Vine Church, in Urbancrest, Ohio until her death. Fannie loved her Church family and was a very faithful prayer warrior. She loved and reverenced the Lord and taught her children to do the same. Her favorite scriptures that she read every morning were Psalm 27, Psalm 91, and Psalm 25.

Fannie received an award for her historical African American family the "Quinichett's" at the 2014 Mayors Black History Celebration in Urbancrest, Ohio. Fannie left a legacy for being the last Quinichett descendants of the First African American Family to migrate in the late 1800's to a little Village now called Urbancrest, located in Ohio. Her grandmother Ella (Quinichett) started "Union Baptist Church" of Urbancrest, Ohio in her home as a prayer band and later moved to a building. Prayer was not an option in the Quinichett family. Fannie's sister Margaret Quinichett carried the Olympic Torch for Urbancrest which later reached Atlanta, Ga. where Mohammad Ali lit the Olympic flame. Fannie loved to give, and she found Joy in doing for others. Fannie drove her car until she was 93 and lived alone in her home without assistance until age 97. She loved driving others transportation. She cooked the best Greens in the world. She had such a contagious "Smile", that wouldn't let you be angry around her. Fannie was blessed with a servant's heart, she shall truly be missed by everyone.
