Flora Mae Clark, age 84, of West Jefferson, passed away on May 13, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1942, in her parents’ home in Pigeon Creek, West Virginia, to the late Gaylord and Kathleen Walters. Flora was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, Bud Gail Clark; her parents; and her siblings, Bonny Walters, Gary Walters, and Kenneth Walters. She is survived by her children: Diana Jude, Bonnie (Paul) Krebs, Byron (Amy) Clark, and Wendy (David) Snyder; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Odell (Karen) Walters, David Walters, and Diana Howes; sisters-in-law Mary Walters and Myrna Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Marcia Craig. Flora graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree from the College of Education and sang with the OSU Chorus during her college years. Her lifelong passion for music led her to serve as choir director and Sunday School coordinator for many years at Trinity Assembly of God. Later, she and Bud became longtime, beloved members of Grove City Church of the Nazarene—“The Naz”—where she joyfully sang in the choir and on the praise team. For 25 years, Flora taught science at Southwestern City Schools, with the majority of her career spent at Pleasant View Middle School. She touched the lives of countless students with her dedication and enthusiasm for learning. Her family will remember her vibrant garden tours, where she proudly pointed out every favorite flower and paused at her cherished koi pond as she walked every inch of her yard. Her family will forever treasure the beautiful handmade crocheted blankets she lovingly presented to each grandchild upon their high school graduation—a lasting symbol of her care and craftsmanship. Flora’s faith, her love of music, her devotion to family, and her warm hospitality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank our parents caregivers, Krissy Brown and Chante` Siler for all their patience, love and support through this time.
