Florence Velasquez

Florence Velasquez, affectionately known for her unwavering love of family and fashion, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 17, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born on October 27, 1927 in Beatrice, Nebraska.

 In 2016, Florence moved from Chicago to Powell to live with her daughter Brenda and son-in-law, Ralph. Together they made cherished memories of travel and social functions. Her kindness and warmth will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have been part of her life.

Florence was a member of Saint Peter Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, actively involved with Women's Club, Women's Auxiliary, Bereavement Ministry, Women's Powell Club, and Source Point- travel and art projects.

The compassion and care that Capital City Hospice staff showed her during her time of need with cancer was unmatched.
