In celebration of Floyd Gaines Truitt (F.G.), born July 1930 in Lawrenceburg, TN. Passed June 15, 2018 surrounded by wife and children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 10a-12p at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231 with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12p. Internment will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
Married September 16, 1950 to Florene P. Jefferson. Children, Gary (Susan) Truitt, David (Lori) Truitt, Dwight (Pam) Truitt, Brian (Karen) Truitt, Diane Truitt, Phillip (Tonya) Truitt. Grand/Great/Great-Great Children = 76 in total.
Preceded in death by father, Floyd Truitt; mom, Mertis (Peppers) Truitt; sisters, Ellen Johnson, Louise Lyon, Joyce Grisham; brother, Hassel Truitt.
Proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Retired after 20 years (1971). After his military hitch, he worked and retired from Sears (1991). He was proud of his wife of 68 years and all six of his kids. He would often say "there's not a throw away in the bunch."
Instead of flowers, please consider donating to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children's Hospital as he did every month.
