Francis Henry Johnson Jr.

Francis Henry Johnson Jr. passed away on Friday March 31, 2017, with his loving family by his side.
He was born September 28, 1948.
He attended the public schools of Columbus, Ohio and graduated from East High School class of 1966 and went on to study at Columbus Technical Institute (Columbus State College) majoring in Hospitality Hotel Management. He proudly served in the United States Army and received an Honorable discharge. He worked for CMACO before going to work for the Sheraton Hotel as a cook in downtown Columbus. He went on to work for the City of Upper Arlington where he retired after 25 plus years of service.
Preceded in death by parents Francis and Johnetta Johnson.
Survived by wife Melva Saunders-Johnson, daughter Tara Smith, stepson Terry Wayne Fisher Jr., Brothers Larry, Chris, and Gerald Johnson, Sisters Nancy (Angelo) Bowman, Diane Berger, grandchildren Desean, Shia Smith, Tiera, Terry III, TeShon Fisher, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held Friday April 7, 2017, from 10-11a.m., funeral service will follow at 11a.m., at Faith Ministries Church, 2747 Agler Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43224.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family sincerely appreciated the excellent and compassionate care provided by the medical team at the Riverside Methodist Hospital ICU and Hospice Care Unit.
