Frank Vanderpool, age 95 passed away on January 2, 2018 surrounded by his family who lovingly refer to him as "Pap". Frank was born November 30, 1922 in Hueysville, KY and was a WW II Army Veteran serving in New Guinea, Philippines and Japan. He is preceded in death by son Kenneth Vanderpool. Survived by wife of 71 years, Jewel Vanderpool, son Gary (Kathy) Vanderpool, daughter Connie (Terry) Mowder, seven grandchildren, great grandchildren and sister Wanda Hicks. He retired after 30+ years from Big Drum, Incorporated. Frank was an avid gardener and prided himself on the tomatoes he grew and was happiest with his hands working the soil. A long-time fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball he enjoyed following the March Madness brackets and rooting for the Wildcats.
