Franklin "Frank" Starkey, 79, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born September 17, 1934 in Glenwood, WV, son of the late Forest and Beulah Spurlock Starkey.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Miller, Sheldon Starkey, William Starkey and Mary Ruth Meadows.
He retired from the Columbus Police Department as a Sergeant with over 26 years of service.
Frank was also a member of the Sunrise Masonic Lodge and enjoyed square dancing and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Colleen Massie Starkey; sons, Rodney (Annette) Starkey and Eric Douglas Starkey; daughter, Valerie (Dean Nader) Starkey; grandchildren, Erica Starkey and Michael Starkey; great grandchildren, Gauge, Eriana, Mateo, Eric; siblings, Leland (Evelyn) Starkey and Betty (Don) Turner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
