French D Wood, Sr.

French D. Wood, Sr, age 95 of Mt. Sterling, OH, passed away on June 24, 2025. He was born on March 29, 1930 to the late Lee Okey and Susie (Whithatch) Wood in Tioga, West Virginia. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Wood and daughter Roberkia "Berky" Earl. French is survived by son French D. (Dodie) Wood, Jr., grandchildren Natalie (David) Self, French David "Bud" Wood, III and Frank Rockwell "Rocky" Earl, 4 great grandchildren Danielle, Kenny (Mary), David "DJ" and Alexis (Austin), 11 great great grandchildren Haylie, Noah, Chloe, Colin, Shaun, Brooklyn, Leah, Westley, Duke, Jackson and Maddie.

French enjoyed going to the race track and watching Thoroughbred racing, but his true love was his family.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, OH.
