Garry Allen Ramey

Gary Allen Ramey, 79, of Columbus, passed away on June 15, 2025 at Grant Medical Center. He was born in Columbus on December 18, 1945 to the late Iver and Fay (Lenigar) Ramey. He married Evelyn G. Claffey on July 18, 1981.

Along with his loving wife, Garry is survived by children, Audra Carlson (Shane Howell); grandchildren, Kayli Carlson, Victoria Carlson, Lexi Howell; great-grandchildren, Asher Mahr; siblings, Suzy Julian, Tommy (Debbie) Ramey; and many other family members and friends.

Along with his parents, Gary is preceded in death by Samantha Watts.

Gary graduated high school in 1964 and served in the Custodial Service Department for Southwest City Schools for the majority of his work career. Gary also owned his own cleaning business that he operated with passion. When he wasn’t working, Gary loved to bowl in his younger years. He also loved to watch old movies and nap in his man cave. He was a dedicated fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 5pm to 8pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A service to honor Gary’s life will be held at 10am, Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Obetz Cemetery.
