Gary Lee Campbell

Gary Lee "Buddy" Campbell, 85, passed away September 18, 2026. He was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Betty Campbell; brother, Timmy Campbell;and sister, Linda Nippert. Buddy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Libby Campbell; children, Joe (Jenny) Campbell, Michael (Khristine) Campbell, and Amy (Steve) Scovell; grandchildren, Sean, Logan, Joey, and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Arabella, Braxton, Braylen, Beckham, and Brentley; as well as other extended family and friends, including special cousin and dear friend, Don Greenlee and his children; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and John Hickel, Roxanne and Jim Newton and their families.

Buddy served his country in the United States Navy beginning in the 1960s through the early 1990s during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He worked at Lennox Industries for 26 years, as well as Techneglas for 10 years.

Buddy was a member of Johnstown Community Sportsmen's Club. He loved fishing and the outdoors. Even through all of Buddy's life commitments, family was his priority - Libby being his number one. Buddy and Libby enjoyed traveling to Tennessee with family, especially Pigeon Forge. He liked listening to country music and watching Westerns. Christmas was a special holiday to celebrate with family, including putting up his mother's "ugly ornament."

Memorial Gathering Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 11am until the time of Memorial Service at 12pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio (614-818-1188).
