Gary Rohm

Gary A. Rohm, 75, of Whitehall, OH went to his Heavenly home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 4, 2020 after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He passed away at home in the care of his loving family and Brookdale Hospice. Born May 9, 1945 in Chicago, IL, to the late Gilbert and Pauline Rohm. Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Rebecca, 7 children, Michele (Joe) LaVilla, Amy (C.R.) Howdyshell, Justin (Elizabeth) Rohm, Michael (Susan) Castle, Dedra (Rob) Nightingale, William (Kellie) Castle and Robert Castle. Brothers: Thomas (Merry) Rohm and John (Joan) Knowles. Grandchildren: Lauren, Morgan, Alyssa, Jaxson, Austin, Kristine, Kyle, Bobby, Brandon, Hannah, Alex, Kristin, Faith, Robert, Becca, Ayla, Amy and Michael. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brother-in-laws, 8 nieces and 3 nephews. Gary is a born again Christian since 1980 and a faithful member of Maize Road Baptist Church. He served the Lord with his work in ministries of the prisons, nursing homes, youth program, teaching, and preaching God's Word. He was a true friend and an inspiration to all who knew him in his family, place of worship, work place, and all aspects of his life. His presence will be missed but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, OH 43123. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
