Gary Bradford Thompson was called Home on Sunday August 9, 2020. Loving Husband, Dad, Pawpaw, Brother, Uncle, and Friend – he was all these and more. Born on May 22, 1950, he led a full life marrying the love of his life, Jewell, of fifty years, and creating a beautiful family with two sons, Brad (Sherry) and Chad (Michelle) and six grandchildren (Courtney, Dalton, Keegan, Rylee, Brianna, and Aubrey), and two great-grandchildren (Sophie and Jasper). He is preceded in death by his father and mother (James "Stubby" and Gladys Thompson), brothers (Ernie and PeeWee Thompson), and sister (Nancy Harper) and survived by sisters (Terry Young and Becky Thompson), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gary touched so many with his big dimpled smile, his love, his laughter and his wit. Gary was the greatest storyteller and while he made you raise your eyebrows from time to time, he left you laughing every time. For those of you who knew him well, he always "only missed it by one number". A welder by trade, he could do and fix anything and was the first to jump in and help someone out. His family came first and you knew his love for them was genuine. His friendship was one of a kind and he had a way of always making you feel at home. We are so thankful to have been blessed with him over the past 70 years and count the days until we meet him again.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at The James - OSU and Hospice of Central Ohio for caring for Gary.
Friends are welcome at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 3:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm.
