Gary David Weaver, 68, of Obetz, Ohio, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was born in Columbus on May 27, 1958, to Donald D. Weaver and Marie Boggess.

Above all else, Gary was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife, Nancy. They married on February 20, 2010, and shared 16 years of marriage. He loved her deeply, and the life they built together meant everything to him. They enjoyed traveling, visiting beaches and historical sites, and simply having each other to share those experiences with. Sixteen years was nowhere near enough, but those years hold memories Nancy will carry with her for the rest of her life.

Gary served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1985 as an Ocean Technician, with assignments in Iceland and Hawaii during the Cold War. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University and retired in May 2024 from the State of Ohio, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities.

Gary had a lifelong love of stamp collecting, a hobby he enjoyed for 58 years. He attended stamp shows and was a longtime member of the Columbus Stamp Club. His collection represented decades of interest, patience, and enjoyment. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Groveport.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Heaton Weaver; his sister, Sheree Darlene Weaver of Columbus; his stepdaughter, Laura Biddle, and her husband, Joshua; his grandchildren, Abigail and Joshua Biddle of Columbus; and several cousins, including Carol Brown of Florida.

We will miss Gary as a husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. Most of all, we will remember how much he loved my mom. That love will always be part of our family.
