Gay D. Roberts

Gay D. Roberts, 88, of Columbus, passed away at Friendship Village of Dublin on January 30, 2016. Born on September 23, 1927 to the late Clark Roger and Lyda Grace (Grandy) Draper in Cleveland, OH. She graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1945 and attended Miami University. Gay loved the water, taught swimming until she was 80. Volunteered at Christ Episcopal Church, loved cooking, entertaining and was devoted to her family. Gay was an avid Buckeye Fan, traveler and adventurer.
Survived by children Cynthia Elson, Allan (Amy) Roberts, Andrew Roberts and Amy (Jeffrey) Daugherty, grandchildren Amanda, Jonathan, Nicholas, Owen, William, Jeffrey, Calvin, Carter, Andrew, Emma, Ashley, 4 great grandchildren Brooks, London, Britton and Emre.
Preceded in death by husband Allan H. Roberts, brother Richard C. Draper, son-in-law Thomas Elson.
Memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 3445 Warrensville Center Rd., Shaker Heights, OH on February 15, 2016 at 1pm with Rev. Peter Faass officiating.
Reception to follow after memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to OhioHealth Hospice, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215.
