Gayla Ann Burnworth, 57, of Columbus, passed away in her home July 10, 2025. She was born September 3, 1967 in Weirton WV to Dale and Claris Little.
Gayla was a loving mother and grandmother who was known for her patriotism and free spirit. She was always present and active in both her girls' and grandchildren's' lives, often teaching some of the best life lessons. She loved the outdoors and could often be found feeding her squirrels and birds while chatting with her best friend or sitting by a fire enjoying music.
She loved being a grandma (AKA Mamaw) the most to her seven grandchildren and was eagerly awaiting her first great grandchild. She originally resided in the Ohio Valley for many years, where she had made many friends that became like family and will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Annie Davis, her parents Claris and Dale Little, and older brother David Little.
She is survived by her girls April (James) Cork and Marie (Stephanie) Little and seven grandchildren. Faith, Elijah, Spencer, Aaron, Riya, Brendon, and Krysta. As well as her great grandchild, due in November, Lorelai. Siblings Janene Kearney, Bobby Jo (Dee) Little and Kevin (Susan) Little.
Per our mother's request there will be no funeral services but instead a celebration of life to celebrate the person she was and the things she passed on. The celebration of life will take place August 2, 2025 from 1pm to 5pm at Friendship Park Shelter 2 in Smithfield, Ohio.
We look forward to celebrating our mom with all the people who were important to her.
