Gayla Jean (Smith) Conyers, 75, of Grove City, OH, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dolores Martin and Ralph Smith.
Gayla was a warm, kind, and generous woman whose love for her family was boundless. She could light up any room with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh, bringing joy to everyone around her. Her deep dedication to her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Michael Phillips; her children, Michael (Stephanie) Shafer and Anita Savage; her beloved grandchildren, April Jacobs, Ronnie Savage, Brandon Shafer, Maddie Shafer, Andrew Shafer, Madison Bennett, and Max Bennett; and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Ethan, Dylon, Jaxson, and Emmalyn. She was preceded in death by her brother, parents, and grandparents.
Gayla found great joy in traveling, especially her time spent in Florida, where she made lasting memories with her beloved partner, Michael and new friends. Her love for adventure was matched only by her passion for nurturing her family and friendships, always creating a welcoming space for those she held dear.
Gayla's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the warmth and kindness she shared so freely.
