Gene A. Briggs "Bud"

With passing at the age of 90, Gene (Bud) Briggs had a full, beautiful life.

His childhood years were spent with his beloved mother and 9 brothers and sisters. Then spending several years in the Army National Guard. Making the decision to leave the military to marry the love of his life, Mary Lou.

Married in 1958, they began to build their family of 4 beautiful daughters. Always working hard for his family, he still found time for his love of baseball. Spending much time on the ball field to play and coach. Never giving up and never quitting was Buds way throughout life and ball. He finally hung up his glove in his early 60’s, but never lost the love of the game. Besides the Yankees, he was a forever Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. Bud loved to cheer his teams on!

After 54 years of Marriage Bud lost his Mary Lou in 2012. With his family by his side, Bud continued in the home he built many years ago. The last several years, his health declined, but his spirit did not fade… Fighting hard for his family, he loved so; but now at peace where he belongs. Maybe he is fishing, finding trouble with his brothers, or holding his sisters, his mother, and his Mary Lou tight.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his wife Mary Lou, and his daughter Cindy Allegretti.

Bud is survived by his daughters Julie Briggs (Gregg Harper), Kimberly Otten (Kevin), and Nicole Corbin (Justin); his grandchildren Dustin, Bryan, Nicholas, and Kolten; several great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins and friends.
