Gene Travis Hudson

Gene Travis Hudson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Hospice House in Columbus, Ohio.

Gene was born in Grundy, Virginia on January 16, 1944 to Ruby (Hatfield) Hudson and Mack Hudson.

Gene is survived by his younger sister Brenda (Eric) Fannin and his three daughters Veronica (Dave) Allinder, Victoria (Ron) Keller and Valerie (Chris) Watson, along with his grandchildren Austin (Kimberly) Keller, Shae Ramos, Bradley Allinder, Faith (Sergio) Bermeo, great grandchildren Jaydon Jeno and Aylona (children of Shae Ramos) and Kennedy Raine Keller (daughter of Austin and Kimberly Keller) and numerous other family members.

Gene was a loving, wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved and admired by anyone that knew him. His daughters would tell you that he was the best father any girls could ask for.

Gene was proceeded in death by his mother and father, two brothers Willard Eugene and James Allen Hudson, sisters Patricia Patterson and Darlene Miller, ex-wife (the mother of his three daughters - we are celebrating her life at this time, as well), lifelong friend Roseann Hudson, as well as several nephews and other relatives.

The family would like to thank HomeReach Hospice, along with Ohio Hospice House and team for the wonderful care they provided for Gene.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home's NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065 on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm with a celebration of life service to follow. After the service, light food and refreshments will be provided at the Chapel.
