Gene A. Killilea, 85, of Grove City, passed away suddenly surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva (Burke) Killilea; brother, Jack Killilea and his parents, William and Ruth (Poston) Killilea. Gene is survived by his wife, Janine; children, William (Christa) Killilea and Kathy (Rob) Stethem, Kelly (Adam) Sroka and Ryan (Andrea) Vince; grandchildren, Kelsey Dotson, Sara (Shane) Portier, Samuel J. Stethem, Gracen Sroka and Austyn Sroka. He is also survived by his special cousin, Mary Jean Grove.
In 1946 Gene was contacted by the Olympic committee to try out for the Olympic high dive competition. He was in the Air National Guard for 37 years where he received numerous awards and honors. He was a chief master sergeant at retirement. He was an avid fisherman and spent many happy hours on the lake with his son, Bill.
