Geoffrey Brooks

Geoffrey Alan Brooks, 60, passed away peacefully September 20, 2014, after an 8-month battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Yates (née Campbell); companion, Lisa Perkins; children, Christina Wise (née Brooks), Geoffrey (Jalal Barwari) Brooks II and Katie (Brian Craig) Brooks; grandchildren, Aubrey (Wayne), Lauren, Taylor, Kayla, Olivia C., Riley, Olivia B., Bryan and Lorelei; great-grandson, Grayson; siblings, Ellen (Carl), Diane, Karen, Marlon and Greg; several nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends.

Geoff was an employee of Rogers Fire Protection for over 30 years. Geoff and Cheryl Brooks (née Perkins) were married for 26 years. Despite their separation, they remained close friends. He was very active in his kids' extracurricular activities. He never missed a sporting event, musical rehearsal or performance. "Papa Brooks", as so many came to know him, was always willing to help make the students as successful as they could be, and always with a smile on his face. His loyalty to his friends and family goes unparalleled. He is greatly missed and will never be forgotten.

Visitation Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Friday, September 26, 2014, starting promptly at 11 am at the Funeral Home.
