George Daugherty Jr.

George "Dewey" Daugherty Jr., 78, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
George was born July 17, 1939 to the late George Sr. and Thelma (Harmon) Daugherty.
He graduated from Ohio University. Dewey was in the Army Reserves for 6 years, enjoyed boating and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He was married to Rosemary (Sernulka) for 43 years.
Dewey will be deeply missed by his wife; children Cindy (Kenneth) Shaw, Carolyn (Dean) Watson, William F. Isabella Jr.; grandchildren Michael Isabella, Sarah Shaw, Casey Shaw, Joe Shaw, Dustin Watson, Julliana Watson, and Hayden Watson.
Dewey was preceded in death by his father-in-law Pete Superak and mother-in-law Lucy Superak.
The family would like to share a special thanks to Dewey's physical therapist Demitri and hospice nurse Betsy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 10:30am to 11:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. Funeral services will follow at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA P.O. Box 546, Grove City, OH 43123.
