George E. Kadlec, 91, Columbus, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
George was born in McGregor, IA on February 26, 1922, to Joseph F. and Frances A. (Levensky) Kadlec and is preceded in death by his parents and 7 half-brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Betty Jane (Kunze) Kadlec; daughter, Laura (Richard) DePaso; son, Allen (Vickie) Kadlec; sister, Darlene DeSotel; grandchildren, Amy (Bryan) King, Brian (Erica Schrader ) Kadlec and Sarah Kadlec; great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Olivia and Nicholas King.
George served in the US Army Air Force as a Flight Engineer flying 30 missions over Europe during WWII. He received the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross and 5 Air Medals.
George worked for Hayward Distributing as Field Sales Manager in the farm, lawn and garden department.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 1-3PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 PM.
