George Lee Pappas, 70, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2014 in Columbus, OH. He was born on June 28, 1943 to Spiros and Margaret (Ringler) Pappas in Massillon, OH.
George was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Tammy (Tim O'Hearn) Pappas, Renee (Dave) Schoenung, Jason (Julie) Pappas, Faith Gehring, and Tyler Tweedy; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Sam (Pat) Pappas, Jean (Raymond) Meanor, and Bill (Donna) Pappas; and countless other loving family members and friends.
George never met a stranger. Everyone who knew him knows he always had a smile on his face, was always pleasant to be around, and told witty jokes. He was a brilliant carpenter, and had his own craft business: Cozy Cabin Crafts. He was known for loving his cats, and feeding birds. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A memorial service for George will be held at a later time in Massillon, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
