Gib Bickel

Gibson Omer Bickel of Greenville, Ohio passed away Sunday morning at the age of 64, following a 20 months-long battle with cancer. He spent his final days in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family and pets.

Among his many accomplishments, those that speak loudest about him are his beloved family, of which he was immensely proud; his stalwart support of the Red Cross, to which he was a member of the 10 gallon club; his role as a founder of The Laughing Ogre, cultivating a positive sense of community in the area; and serving as a comic community icon in the whole of Columbus.

He is survived by his sister Valerie, wife Cindie, children Corwyn (Dana), Eric, and Elizabeth (Chris), and grandchildren Elijah, Ginnifer, Calliope, Aveline, Amelia, and William, and uncountable other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Bickel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, the Cat Welfare Association or any local animal charity, or a blood donation to the Red Cross.
