Gladys Marlene Grimes

Gladys Marlene Grimes passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. She was born on April 14, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio. Gladys lived a long and meaningful life centered around her family and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandma, great-grandma and great great grandma. Gladys loved spending time with her family and took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and sharing stories and laughter with those she loved most.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents William and Lettie Mitchell; her sister Jeanette Cahill and brothers Charlie and Bill Mitchell; her son-in-law, Jim Grinstead Sr.; and her grandson, Jimmy Grinstead.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard Grimes. Together they built a life full of love, family, and memories. She is also survived by her five children: Patricia Grinstead, Deborah Shuler, Richard (Michelle) Grimes, Sheri Snyder, and Karen (Rick) Julian. Gladys also leaves behind a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love and memory with them.
Gladys will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, but her love, kindness, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
