Gunnar Matthew Parrill, age 10, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was born in Akron, OH on May 21, 2006 to Matt and Leah Parrill. Gunnar's name means "Brave Warrior" and he fought a very courageous battle with God's help & the support of family & friends,
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Andrew Thomas Viator, II. Gunnar is survived by siblings, Ava, Mason and Lucy; grandparents, Rod & Bonnie Parrill and Jay & Marina Glaze; aunts and uncles, Rebecca Parrill, Andrew (Danielle) Viator, Ashley (Brandon) Heacox, Cody Glaze, and Callie (Andy) Trafford; cousins Ellie, Jovie, Maverick, Caleb & Joshua. Gunnar was fortunate to also have many extended family and friends that loved him deeply and will miss him greatly.
Gunnar was an extremely bright and passionate young man. He loved his family, God, football, music and Minecraft. He was an inspiration to all who knew him, a friend to friendless, and a leader amongst his peers. Gunnar had an incredible sense of humor and a smile that melted hearts. He was always concerned about the well-being of others and was always first to lend a helping hand, even until the very end.
While our hearts are broken for our loss, we do not grieve as those without hope. We are confident that Gunnar has received the ultimate miracle and is healthy and whole in the presence of his Creator and loving Father, God. We are looking forward to our heavenly reunion and stand firm with Psalm 20:7 "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life service for Gunnar at 11:00am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Crosslink Community Church, 4747 Harrisburg Pike, Grove City, OH. 43123, with special family friend, Pastor Dave Bever officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to "Gunnar Matthew Parrill" to any Chase Bank or on GoFundMe.com.
The family requests that those who attend the Celebration of Life wear memorabilia of some of Gunnar's favorite sports teams including Buckeyes, Browns, Cavs, Indians, Akron Zips, FHHS Golden Falcons, DCHS Rocks, NHS Panthers, BHS Magics, or Buckeye Woods Elementary & Gunnar T-shirts.
