Gwenda Marie Brown

Gwenda Marie Brown passed away at the OSU James Center on December 26, 2025, at the age of 53. Gwenda is predeceased by her mother, Catherine Moore (Johnson) and step-mother, Marla Brown (Koch), grandparents, Marvin and Marjorie Johnson, Roger Brown, Sr. and Maxine Buhacevich (Brown), brothers, Emmitt and Joesph Kauffer, and step-son, Duane Mobley. Gwenda is survived by her three loving children, daughters, Ashley Bechtolt (Matthew Bechtolt) and Cieanna Humphries (Garrett Greene), son, Ryan Brown, grandchildren, Shealee Brown, Brayden Brown, Elijah Bechtolt, Ashlynn and Addison Lloyd, father, Roger Brown, Jr., sisters, Jody Kooistra (Todd Kooistra) and Judy Brown, and brother, Michael Darnell (Katie Darnell). Gwenda is lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Gwenda was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 19, 1972. She was raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where she started and raised her own family, before returning to her hometown of Grove City, Ohio to be near her children, grandchildren, and family. Gwenda was known to be a very dedicated and reliable worker. For the past seven years, she managed at United Dairy Farmers, Grove City, Ohio. Other long-term positions include Applebee’s, Columbus, Ohio, and Denny’s, Phoenix, Arizona.

Gwenda will be remembered for her caring, compassionate heart, as she was always there to help someone in time of need. Gwenda knew no stranger, she had an energetic, fearless, vivacious personality. She was adventurous and spontaneous. She loved and lived boldly and passionately. Gwenda’s greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and being a part of her family.

Services will be held at Newcomer, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123, on January 12, 2026. Visitation will be held between 4-6 PM, followed with a Service of Remembrance at 6 PM, with Pastor Tim Blankenship officiating. A reception to follow.
