Harriet May Langford Bryant, 96, of Columbus Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 15th at 11:50 am.
Harriet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and was a faithful and devoted disciple of Christ our Lord.
She was born at Newcastle upon Tyne England to Reverend George Herbert and May Langford on Aug. 30, 1920. She came to America in 1926, and her family eventually settled in Kilbourne, Ohio.
She was proud of her work at J. C. Penney, having retired after many years of service. Harriet was actively involved in her church women's groups, Parents Without Partners, Doctor's West Hospital Guild, bowling teams, and senior citizen groups. She was always working on crafts and making candy to donate to her many causes.
Harriet is preceded in death by her brothers; Herbert and Reginald Langford; her sisters, Ivy and Eva; her son, Rodney; her daughter, Regina Bryant Peters; and her former husband, Clyde Bryant.
She is survived by sons, Bruce Bryant (Janice) and Roger Bryant (Cathy); and daughter, Teresa Carder (Rob); brother-in-law, Jack Bryant of Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law, Betty Amore of Cincinnati, Ohio; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, some of whom still live in England.
She will be sadly missed by all, including her dear friend of 80 years, Bernice Humes.
Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10 - 11:30AM at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119.
Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at the church with Pastor Nathan Custer officiating.
She will be laid to rest with her daughter, Regina at Summerford Township Cemetery 830 Rt. 56 in London, Ohio.
Arrangements are by Newcomer Funeral Home.
