Harry E. Rader, Jr., age 77, a life-long resident of Mt. Sterling, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home with his family present. Born February 11, 1937 to the late Harry and Mary (Forrest) Rader in Blacklick, Ohio.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat Rader; children Sherry (Dave) Lewis, Patrick (Candy) Rader, Mike (Eileen) Rader; grandchildren Lindsey (Will) Lewis Stacy, David (Renee) Lewis, Rachelle Rader, Katie Rader, Cameron Rader and Amber Rader, great-grandchild Carter Stacy, brother Jim Rader and many family and friends. Preceded in death by sisters Joanne Sakey and Elizabeth Carder and niece Mary Sakey.
Retired after 30 years from General Motors. In retirement, started an upholstery business and most recently worked part time for AVI Food Service. He enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, horseback riding, boating, skiing, and off-roading, but most importantly he enjoyed being with family, his children and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the gathering of family for big Sunday dinners.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 17 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, OH.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Internment will be held at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Ohio.
