Hattie Upchurch, 83, of Blacklick, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala, Ohio.
She was born April 9, 1930 in Cullman, Alabama, daughter of the late Henry Tallie and Anne Flossie Denny Smith.
In addition to her parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Gene Upchurch; siblings, Joseph Winford Smith, Alfes Benney Smith, Mary Edith McWhorter, James Henry "Boots" Smith and Sandra Dean Hancock.
She is survived by her children, Jacklyn Marie Baker, Charles Tallie (Patty) Ferguson, Elizabeth Ann Ferguson, Robin Kay Ferguson and April Lynn Smith; siblings, Charlsie Ann Cox, Connie Oree Leftwich, Bill Wayne Smith, Margaret Faye Smith and Jacklyn Marie Baker; grandchildren, Jesse Navarro, Jamie Baker, Tenika "Nikki" and Michael Ferguson, Joshua Ramsey, Frank and Amanda Witt, James Lowes, Christina Grzadzinski and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2014 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2014 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Fairview East Baptist Church, 1022 Welcome Rd. Cullman, Alabama, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to USO of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 13176 Columbus, OH 43213.
