Hazel J. Smith, 78, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Gahanna, OH. Hazel was born on March 3, 1940 in Williamson, WV to the late Clinton 'CP' and Belvie (Shortridge) Dibble.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her son, Carl Edward Smith; siblings, Annie Randolph, Roy, Harold, Dennis and Herman Dibble.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Lester Smith; children, Garith (Nancy) Smith, Doneica (Gary) Sarver and Deborah (Daniel) Smith; grandchildren, Sara, Jamie, Jennifer, Eddie, Rachel, Justin, Matthew, Garith, Zachary and Ben; several great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 3 to 5pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A memorial service will immediately follow at 5pm also at Newcomer NE Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
