Helen Jane Black

Helen Jane Black, age 93 of Grove City, OH, passed away on July 23, 2025. She was born on August 10, 1931 to the late William and Margarite (McDonnell) Killian in Columbus, OH. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband William Black, siblings Mary Margaret Jones, Joanne Stewart, Robert J. Killian, William J. Killian Jr, Ronald Lee Killian, Suzanne Taylor and James J. Killian. Helen is survived by children Janet Lynn (Kiger) Garnon, Susan Jane (Mark) Carter and Stephen Edward (Debra Aljabery) Black, sibling Judith Ann Newman, grandchildren Jeremy (Lisa) Fishinger, Carter (Mary) Garnon, James Russell Carter and Ryan (Mandy) Carter, great grandchildren, Carly Carter, Wesley Carter and Katy Carter, many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a graduate from West High School. Helen loved her family especially her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor, loved music, playing Hells Bells Casino Slots, playing bingo, traveling with friends at the Evans Senior Center in Grove City, going out to eat, reading Daniel Steele books and enjoyed watching The Buckeyes Football and Basketball. She was a kind and compassionate woman, that found joy in every moment. She was a member of the Central Ohio UFCW Unions and Retail Clerks.

Graveside services will take place at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH at a later date.
